This former CSK player, who was close to MS Dhoni, may announce his retirement in the middle of the IPL 2022 season.

Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni both retired from international cricket in 2020, but Raina continued to play in the IPL. During the IPL 2022 mega auction, 'Mr IPL' Raina was not selected by any franchise.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season kicked off with a bang, with defending champions Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni stepping down just days before the T20 league began. Dhoni handed over the CSK captaincy to Ravindra Jadeja, and it has now been revealed that his former teammate Suresh Raina is set to retire from all forms of cricket in the near future.

In 205 IPL games, the former CSK batter scored 5,528 runs at an average of 32.52 with a strike rate of 136.76 and a total of 139 fifties. Raina has now transitioned to a non-playing role, making his IPL 2022 debut as a cricket commentator.

He is already 35 years old, so it appears unlikely that he will continue to play cricket for a long time. Raina, like Harbhajan Singh last year, may announce his retirement from all forms of cricket if he is not picked as a replacement during the IPL 2022.

Raina is the first of a long line of glittering stars and cricketing legends to join the commentary panel for the Indian Premier League's upcoming season. Some of the 85 commentators from the 15th edition of the IPL can be heard in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Bengali, and the newly added Gujarati feed.

Ravi Shastri, the former head coach of the Indian men's team, is returning to the commentary booth, while Suresh Raina, Piyush Chawla, Dhawal Kulkarni, and Harbhajan Singh are all set to make their debuts. Mayanti Langer Binny, a popular figure in the IPL broadcast team, has returned after a two-year absence.

Meanwhile, Chennai Super King also failed to win their second match in the IPL 2022 against Lucknow Super Giants. However, LSG won their first match of the IPL 2022 with 6 wickets. And once again in this IPL 200+ score has been chased by LSG, for the first time PBKS has chased 200+ against RCB.
